Inspire Confidence

In these times of uncertainty and turmoil, how do you inspire confidence? One of the best ways is to tell a story about how you overcame an obstacle in your life – how you’ve solved the problem before. Your story has to be personal, but not too personal. For example: At one point in my career, I wanted to be a writer at the national level.
Every day, I wrote. I tried to figure out each publication’s style. Every day, I received rejection letters.
Finally, one day I decided to write in my own voice. I decided to write like I heard it in my head.
Then I got a call – my first national article.
When I asked the editor how many articles he had to choose from, he said:” We looked at 1,000 articles and chose yours. “
Wow! I saw the value in trusting my own voice.
